Rounding Third and Heading For Home Game Summary

Chapman Dazzles, Reds Roll Brewers 8-4

Good

So many good things from the game tonight, I don’t even now where to begin…..
  • Aroldis Chapman……..WOW!!!!! 1IP 0H 0ER 0BB 1SO on 8 pitches. He hit 103 on the gun.
  • Joey Votto……..MVP!!!!! 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 3RBI and a walk, and a gold glove play in the 9th inning.
  • Scott Rolen, 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, and a wicked backhanded throw to second to end the game.
  • Sam LeCure was outstanding again and got a well deserved win. 2IP 1H 0R 0ER 1BB 1SO on 30 pitches.
  • Bill Bray had another solid outing as well.
  • Reds win another series and paired with a Cardinal loss tonight and now lead the NL Central by 7 games.
  • The Reds go 19-8 in the month of August, best record in all of Major League Baseball.
  • With a Padres loss tonight (They are currently down 7-3 to Arizona after 6) the Reds are tied with the Atlanta Braves for the best record in the NL at 77-55.
  • The Houston Astros. Thank you very much!!!
Bad

  • Jay Bruce was scratched before the game for precautionary measures after having a pain in his left side.
Ugly

  • Jonny Gomes error in the 5th that plated two runs, I like the guy, but he is a liability at the plate and in the field. He did make up for it with a 2 run HR.
  • The Crowd. After last night’s weak crowd, tonight was only about 6,000 more. For a baseball town that cherishes its history and the fact they haven’t had a winner in 9 years you would think people would be more excited. NO MORE EXCUSES CINCINNATIANS!!!
